AKERI VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE BACKGROUND

PLANNING

The Akeri Vocational Training Center was established through donor support with the prime propose of absorbing the standard seven and secondary school drop – outs so is to engage them in vocational training and prepare them to either get employment in the formal sectors or be self employed in various in-formal sectors. Akeri Vocational  Training Centre  (AVTC) offers a number of training   programmes.

Akeri Vocational Training Centre  (AVTC), initially funded and still assisted by Farmsen-Berne offers many training opportunities to the  Western District (Akeri Village), youth, who  could not continue with higher education after their class seven or  form IV. Among the vocational training courses offered at AVTC are: Computer application, Computer maintenance, Languages, Electronics, Electrical installation and Tour Guide. The courses are unique to AVTC as they are not offered in other such centers  run by the church in the region
